Kings of Convenience
Composed of Erlend Oye and Erik Glambek Boe who have known each other since their childhood, Kings of Convenience’s first succes was made with their debut album Quiet Is the New Loud which was produced by Coldplay producer Ken Nelson. This album was followed by an influential album and the duo made a breakthrough upon Riot on an Empty Street. With their well-recieved singles such as I’d Rather Dance With You, Misread, Homesick, Cayman Islands; Kings of Convenience made a magnificent achievement with Know How, a contribution with Canadian singer/songwriter Feist. Their third album, Declaration of Dependence was released in 2009 after a period of inactivity. Kings of Convenience have been compared to their inspirational ancestor Simon & Garfunkel for Erlend Oye’s and Erik Glambek Boe’s calming voice and heartwarming guitar melodies.
