Gece Geç (Late Night)
Late Night describes a peculiar ball / concert that is happening in an old-fashioned ball-room, with references to David Lynch and John Cassavetes’ films and their semi-drunk, agonizing quality.
Six actors are on stage. They dance for hours, as if they were participating in an absurd competition, they are play-back singing, drinking, sitting on their chairs, resting or talking to each other. All of this take place in a strange, semi- decadent, disorganized reality while, at the same time, a voice from the loudspeakers of the ballroom is telling stories, giving orders or instructions to the dancers, or talking about the glorious past.
As a part of Produce 3 by SPOT Production Fund Performances, Films and Talks Program, Blitz Theatre group will put on Late Night on April 22 and 23, 8:30 pm at Kenter Theater.
