Hayal Kahvesi Shining Stars Sunar: Riff Cohen
Famous Israeli singer and songwriter Riff Cohen will be performing at seven live concert tour in Turkey as part of Hayal Kahvesi Shining Stars in May.
Riff Cohen of Israel is a rare combination of talent, beauty, simplicity, modesty and joy. Although she's only 28 years old, her unique musical language is mature, sometimes dramatic, and even dark.
She graduated in Musicology at the University of Tel Aviv, and her influences derive from composers who do not necessarily come from the field of popular music, such as Monteverdi and Meira Asher, combined with influences which are deeply rooted in popular music from Sudan, Morocco, France and Americana style.
Her greatest source of inspiration is her grandmother Fortunée, who was an illiterate woman from the island of Djerba, Tunisia. Riff learned her French from her mother, who came from France to Israel.
