Pera Museum’s Learning Programs invites children to explore the world of art and transform the act of looking into an adventure with a new workshop series inspired by the exhibition *By the Water’s Edge: The Life and Art of Halil Pasha*. The shores, boats, portraits, and traces of daylight on the water’s surface featured in the exhibition serve as the starting point for a creative learning environment where children will progress through both observation and experimentation. Throughout the program, children explore the movement of water through color, texture, and rhythm; sometimes creating surfaces reminiscent of the sea using foam printing, and other times discovering the movement of paint through spreading and splashing colors. Through works such as a jigsaw puzzle whose pieces come together again, a small moving ship, or accordion-style paintings that fold open, they experiment with thinking about both the parts of a picture and the whole of a scene in different ways.
