Attracting a record number of participants this year, the Leyla Gencer Voice Competition held its preliminary auditions in 6 European countries and determined the 41 contestants who will compete in Istanbul to establish a presence in the opera world. The final series that comprises three legs will start on 16 September and for the eight young singers who will manage to outshine the others, the grand moment will come on the 20th. The finalists will sing with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Pietro Mianiti at the final, trying also to impress the audience this year, whose votes will win a special prize.
