A homage to The Enlightened World of Beethoven, the 48th Istanbul Music Festival invites you to a musical journey in which nature and humans exist in harmony, surrounded by heroes and heroines, love and joy. The festival embraces Istanbul with 23 concerts, pre-concert events and children’s workshops in iconic venues such as Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall and Süreyya Opera House, as well as locations off the beaten track like the Archaeology Museum, St. Pacifico Roman Catholic Church or Büyükada, the biggest of the Prince’s Islands. The festival presents star soloists Emanuel Ax, İdil Biret, Evelyn Glennie, Thomas Hampson, Víkingur Ólafsson, Alexander Rudin and world-renowned orchestras Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Borodin Quartet, Staatskapelle Dresden, Wiener Akademie, I Solisti Veneti, to name a few.
