Pera Museum Learning Programs invites children to explore and transform, through a new workshop program inspired by the exhibition By the Water: The Life and Art of Halil Paşa. The shores, boats, portraits, and traces of sunlight on the water's surface in the exhibition serve as the starting point for a creative learning environment where children will progress through both observation and experimentation.
Throughout the program, children explore the movement of water through color, stain, and rhythm; sometimes creating surfaces reminiscent of the sea with foam printing, and other times discovering the movement of paint with spreading and splashing colors. Through works such as jigsaw puzzles with reassembled pieces, small moving ships, or accordion-style paintings that open and fold, they try to think about both the parts of a picture and the whole scene in different ways.
