8th Gümüşlük Internatonal Classic Music Festival
The 8th International Gumusluk Classical Music Festival kicks off with acclaimed Cellist Frank Wakelkamp supported by the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra, at Bodrum Castle. Other guest performers scheduled to perform in the festival are German soprano Christine Wolff, soprano Burcu Uyar, cellist Ümit İşgörür, flutist Gülşen Tatu, jazz band Emin Fındıkoğlu Quertet, percussionist Burhan Öcal and the Zeynep Tanbay Dance Group. The festival closes on September 14th with a performance by the Escher Quartet.
The Festival will run for two months with world calibre musicians performing in the 400 year old chapel of Eklisia in Gümüşlük. The atmosphere of sitting under the stars outside while the music sings out from this acoustically chapel will be unforgettable.
