Hakan Yılmaz (born December 6, 1969, in Rize) is a Turkish actor and comedian, originally from Çayeli. He began his artistic journey at a very young age, gaining his first stage experience in primary school with the play Cimri ile Manav.
During his school years, Yılmaz studied folk dance under Üstün Gürtuna and later received modern dance training from Çetin Cengiz in high school. He also worked as a dance instructor for three years. Although he was not admitted to a fine arts theater department, he continued performing with amateur theater groups and children’s plays.
While serving in the military, Hakan Yılmaz worked for 15 months in photography and animation units, performing in various shows. After completing his service, he moved to Antalya and performed for two years at Çizgi Theatre, while also appearing on the television program Çizgi Show. Upon returning to Istanbul, he received professional theater training from Tevfik Gelenbe.
In 1994, he appeared in the TV competition show İner misin? Çıkar mısın?, performing sketches he wrote himself. Between 1995 and 1996, he gained widespread recognition on Televizyon Çocuğu, hosted by Okan Bayülgen, alongside notable performers such as Şafak Sezer and Zafer Algöz.
Hakan Yılmaz has starred in many popular Turkish TV series including Yangın Ayşe, Büyük Küçük Demeden, Ayrılsak da Beraberiz, Avrupa Yakası, and Yahşi Cazibe. His memorable characters, such as Teoman, Osman Koçarslanlı, and Kemal Kükreyen, have made him a household name.
With a successful career spanning theater, television, and comedy, Hakan Yılmaz is recognized for his dynamic performances, strong comedic timing, and lasting impact on Turkish entertainment.
