Since the end of 80’s, Joe Lovano has gained a reputation for being a pioneering musician and one of the most productive tenor saxophonists of jazz community. Lovano has been awarded many times including a Grammy award for “Best Large Ensemble” in 2000. This time Joe Lovano meets jazz lovers in Istanbul with his Us Five project. Even though his foundation is based in   traditional roots, he became one of the most modern, dynamic and  innovative figures of the jazz discipline. Since the 90’s, Lovano has worked with Dave Holland, Michel Petrucciani, John Abercrombie, Ed Blackwell, Paul Motian and Hank Jones under the label of Blue Note. Us Five project, where Lovano uses two drum players and plays different instruments, came together in 2007. While performing as a quintet, the group also evolves into  different combinations such as duo, trio and quartet during this dynamic, energetic and freely flowing performance.
