Hosted bands like TESTAMENT, OPETH, ARCH ENEMY, KREATOR, DARK TRANQUILLITY, PARADISE LOST and AMON AMARTH, Unirock Open Air Festival once again welcomes trash and metal bands in Istanbul.

AMORPHIS

Amorphis is a Finnish metal band started by Jan Rechberger, Tomi Koivusaari, and Esa Holopainen in 1990. Initially, the band was a death metal act, but on later albums they evolved into playing other types of genres. They frequently use the Finnish national Kalevala as a source for their lyrics.

OVERKILL

American thrash metal band, formed in 1980 in New Jersey. The band has been active since 1984, releasing 15 studio albums, 2 EPs, 2 live albums and a "covers" album. The band also has a notable mascot, a skeletal bat with a skull-like face, bony wings, and green eyes. It has appeared on most of their album covers. Overkill has gone through many line-up changes, with singer Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and bassist D.D. Verni remaining as founding members. Along with Anthrax the band is one of the most successful east coast thrash metal bands.
