Awarded 2 Brit Awards in categories “Best Group” and “Best Album”, Scotland’s folk rock band Travis will meet the audience at Parkorman in 27th June.
Travis is formed by Fran Healy (vocal, guitar, piano, banjo), Dougie Payne (bass, vocal), Andy Dunlop (guitar, banjo, keyboard, vocal) ve Neil Primrose (drum, percussion). They named the band after the character played in the movie "Paris, Texas" directed by Wim Wenders.
The hit song "Why does it always rain on me?" became popular when Travis took the stage to perform this song after being dry several hours it began to rain as soon as the first line was sung. The following day the story was all over the papers and television, the song rose to number 1. It also eventually took Best Album at the 2000 BRIT Awards.
Inspiring a new wave of UK-based rock bands, with acts such as Coldplay and Starsailor, Travis released 5 studio albums and set to release the next one in late summer of 2008. With the fourth album 12 Memories, they took a step into more organic and political music. In 2006, the members of Travis stuck a giant post-it sticker on the front door of the Tony Blair. It read "Tony Blair-Some steps forward, much to do G8, make poverty history."
