The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has gone on to perform for an estimated 21 million people in 48 states and in 71 countries on six continents.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, America’s cultural ambassador to the world, marks its 50th anniversary of bringing American modern dance tradition to the world’s stages by combining pieces encompassing classical ballet, modern, jazz and etnic dance with gospel, jazz and pop music. The company’s ever-evolving repertoire includes over 200 works by more than 70 choreographers which have always been sold out all over the world. Now, in their İstanbul performance, the AAADT will present choreographies by Ailey, Hans van Manen and Judith Jamison with the music of Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington, J. S. Bach and the traditional South American spirituals.
